I Won't Learn from You

This reading totally gave me a different outlook on learning. It taught me that you can learn, even when refusing to learn. In this essay a man refused to learn his family's native language Yiddish. When he would hear his family talking in Yiddish he would starting counting to himself or starting talking in English so he wouldn't remember any of the words. Its possible to do that with any kind of learning. If you strongly believe in something then you can chose if you want to learn. There is also a story in I won't Learn from You about a little boy who would never read and didn't want to read. He seemed like a very angry little boy. One day the teacher whispered a sentence in a book and told the little boy to say it out loud to the class. And then he yelled "I told you I knew how to read!" After that he proceeded to learn how to read and felt more motivated. Reading that truly gave me a different perspective on learning.
